Sam Darlington – Founder & Senior Partner

During the last seventeen years Sam, has worked for Hilton Hotels UK Ltd, LivingWell Health Clubs Ltd and Showsec International Ltd. He has also had his own successful businesses as well. It is from these that the idea behind One Events was born. To date the biggest achievement he has had was when he was the Managing Director of Draco Protection Services Ltd; from 1999 to 2001 this firm was the main supplier to the Ministry of Sounds, New Years Eve party that was held at the Millennium Dome in London (Now known as the O2). He has also been involved in hugely popular outdoor music festivals such as Wireless, Bestival, Download, Cream Fields and Hyde Park Calling to name but a few.

As if by accident his first job as a Close Protection Officer some fifteen years ago was looking after Jerry Hall and her then partner Mick Jagger as he and the Rolling Stones played a few nights at the Old Wembley Stadium. This was closely followed by Sam looking after Frank Bruno on the night he became World Champion, again at Wembley Stadium. He soon became Head of Security for Top of the Pops and the deputy security manager for the Kilroy silks chat shows when they were based at the BBC Elstree Studios in North London, also home of Eastenders.

The way the economy is at present made Sam start to think what was and what wasn’t working in the event industry. Also how could he provide the service that was needed and produce it in such a way that you, the client would not have to look elsewhere? It was from this line of thought that the concept of One Events came about. A place where all event organisers could go without having to shop around and waste time and money, a one stop shop for all kinds of events under one roof.

Sam is responsible for the day to day Operations, Marketing and Brand Development.
